Vogue Theater Neon Marquee Lighting & San Francisco Screening

Vogue Theater Neon Marquee Lighting & San Francisco Screening
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On Wednesday evening, December 3, 2025, at 7 pm, San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie cut the ribbon and lit up the newly restored Vogue Theater Neon Marquee, returning it to its 1940s neon glory.

The Vogue Theater, established in 1912, had its marquee completely restored and all neon signage returned to its original state, once again shining on Sacramento Street as a beacon of the neighborhood, thanks to a generous grant from the Robert Mailer Anderson/Nicola Miner Family Foundation.

CinemaSFBay, the non-profit organization that operates the Vogue, was proud to bring the Vogue into a new era of beauty. Jim Rizzo and his crew at Neon Works worked for 5 months to complete the restoration, replacing all transformers and many neon tubes, and reusing some of the original neon tubes to maintain the original color scheme’s tone and feel.

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, everyone was invited to stay at the Vogue for a free screening of the 1936 classic film SAN FRANCISCO.
